More than 4000 exhibitors will present the latest innovations and industrial solutions of our time at the Hannover Messe. The Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Engineering IAO will be present with two exhibits at the joint Fraunhofer booth. In addition to this year's highlight exhibit on circular economy, Fraunhofer IAO invites visitors to interact with AI personas in the metaverse. "The metaverse offers great potential for the development of intelligent services. Interaction- and data-driven services can be made tangible at an early stage, collaboration with different stakeholders can be strengthened and the innovation process can be partially automated using AI agents," says Prof. Dr. Katharina Hölzle, Director of the Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Engineering IAO.
In order to develop customized services, it is important to take into account a large number of requirements from different customer groups and stakeholders. If this is done early in the development process, the chances of a successful launch increase. However, such requirements analysis is costly and time-consuming, and often lacks the critical mass of respondents to be representative.
Testing of business ideas by interacting with AI Personas
The idea behind the Fraunhofer IAO exhibit is to use "AI personas" representing potential stakeholder groups to virtually test service ideas and concepts before they are actually implemented, thereby increasing the chances of market success. The development of services and business models is not just about innovative ideas. Success depends on meeting the needs of target audiences and identifying potential problems in advance. AI personas can be created based on real data about different stakeholder groups, such as customers and business partners, and represent their requirements and action logics. In the metaverse, AI personas are also given a virtual shell, which significantly increases the scope for further testing of service concepts.
New possibilities of the metaverse
Visitors to Hannover Messe can see for themselves how this works, and discuss and develop the implementation of visualized service prototypes with the AI personas. The exhibit also demonstrates the possibilities of the metaverse, where business and service ideas can be implemented and analyzed virtually. In the virtual space, AI personas will be able to interact with the service, and adjustments can be quickly implemented and evaluated virtually. The Metaverse also serves as a communication platform to effectively communicate service ideas to stakeholders, opening up new forms of customer interaction.
